About LHRA
The Lower Hastings Ranch Association (LHRA) is here to provide a resource and a voice for our community in understanding and responding to issues that impact our neighborhood, including government, residential, commercial and industrial activities. We are also here to foster a sense of community among our residents through regular participatory meetings and occasional fun events.
Since our founding in the 1950s, we have played a significant role in many issues over the years, from responding to nearby commercial construction problems to the development of the East Pasadena Specific Plan.
Volunteers welcome
We have since organized as a non-profit 501(c)(4) corporation, and our membership and Board of Directors are made up entirely of volunteers who serve without pay. We rely on membership dues to cover operating costs such as community-building activities; expenses such as supplies, newsletters, web site and organizational filings and fees; and, when needed, legal and/or other professional fees for technical advice and support.
Become a contributing member
All homeowners and households of Lower Hastings Ranch are automatically members of LHRA. We encourage members to become involved by participating in meetings and events and to become “contributing members” by registering and paying dues. Annual membership dues are voluntary and are only $20 per year per household.

Housing Density Concerns
The State has mandated that Pasadena build 9,000 additional housing units by the year 2030. We are concerned that East Pasadena is perceived as the area most able to absorb the majority of these units. We would like to see these additional units distributed evenly throughout the city of Pasadena and not disproportionately located in […]
Block Party Recap
Our first-ever Lower Hastings Ranch Association block party on August 19, 2023 was a huge success! Turnout exceeded our most optimistic expectations, and we’ve received much positive feedback from both attendees and organizers. Our twin goals were (1) to have fun and meet new neighbors and (2) to re-introduce LHRA to the community to increase […]
